The walking pickup
How the walk works
We collect from two elementary schools nearby. Ask us at the tour whether your child's school is one of them.
Two schools, two routes
Each school has its own group and its own route, walked the same way every day. If your child's school isn't one of ours, a family member can bring your child to our door by 3:30 p.m.
Who walks
Two staff members go to each school: one leads and one stays at the back. The same people walk the same route, so the children know them.
Which days
Your plan sets the days. On the days your child isn't with us, the school sends your child home as usual; we only collect children on that day's list.
Snow and cold
Hats, gloves and boots come from home. When it is icy or very cold, the group takes the shortest route. If the schools close for snow, we close.
Rain
We walk in the rain with hoods up, and the group dries off at the cubbies before snack. Pack a raincoat; umbrellas stay home.
When plans change
If your child won't come on a day, or someone else will collect your child from school, call or text us before 2 p.m. so the list is right when we reach the door.
